okay so i am not getting trasnfered which i assumed would happen since i just got here but my current comp sister hoffman is leaving and going up to silverdale where i first started aka where i was born. haha and i am going to be follow-up training sister phillips greenie. i dont know if you remember sister phillips but we came out together and she was my saving grace in the mtc she is awesome! anyways so before i forget since i have been lucky and all of my previous companions have had a GPS i am now in need of one SO could you just send me the one we have and i will bring it back with me because like i've said previoulsy this area i'm in is MASSIVE and laid out like a spaghetti bowl and i only know how to get to like 3 places and one of which is jamba juice..... oh and if it is at all possible could you put a current family picture with it cause i'm forgetting what everyone looks like.....OH and i dont know what you are planning on doing with my voting stuff but you are allowed to send it to me and me send it back so that i can vote for the president of the US which would be cool cause i like using my power to vote.
okay so this week was a typical missionary week. we had a really neat lesson with a guy named brian who is a lutheran and the sisters previous knocked into him so we taught him the restoration. he is super humble and so willing to listen its amazing because he is very active in his current lutheran church. his wife recently passed away from the effects of chemo and his current church was extremely supportive which is awesome so right from the get go he told us you know i'mi willing to listen but i'm not interested in switching churches and so when we taught him last tuesday we talked about how we arent asking him to change his church we are inviting him to come and know the Savior in a different way and by the end of the lesson he was like i understand that this isn't about switching religions its about finding Christ. so it was way cool because he is reading the book of mormon and praying about it and he says that God has told him its a good book and to keep reading and listening to us! so that was a really cool lesson. we are teaching him again tomorrow and i'm way stoked because its the plan of salvation and i just feel like its going to bring his honest conversion to the gospel!
so yesterday one of our investigators named rachel, who is dating a guy named adam who gave his farewell talk yesterday. so we were at his ward yesterday listening to his farewell talk and it was so weird because i remember giving mine and feeling like i sorta knew what i was talking about haha but just thinking of coming home and giving my homecoming talk they will be SO different because i have changed so much. when i first came out on my mission i was fighting myself with this inner change that God wanted to make but for some reason i just kept fighting it and it wasnt until my second transfer in lacey with ikes that i finally humbled myself and allowed Heavenly Father to mold me into whatever it is He wants to make me. so just thinking about that and how different i am is really weird because before my mission i thought i was happy but it is nothing comapred to how i feel now that i've allowed God to work in me and i've applied the changing and healing power of the Atonement. its crazy... anyways just a train of thought that i had haha
hey i'mi almost done with the book of mormon too! i'm in 3 nephi and every time i read it it becomes my favorite because i love when the Savior comes and how the people jsut crave to be with Him. its amazing.
wellllll i hope the boys get home safe! i can't believe jorge is in high school..... it blows my mind because i still feel like she is 12... haha but have a good week! i love you!!
love tay
