letter dated June 25, 2012

hey mommmm!
man kona is being a little rebel! maybe its cause the kids were gone so she wanted attention or something i dunno haha so this week was kinda slow but it was still good! i can't remember if i've told you about a kid named josh yet but he is like our little knight in shining armour (spelling..) he is 18 and way cool! and he is getting baptized on the 6th of july and transfers are on the 4th so i'm praying that i get to stay one more here in lacey! because we have so many people that are on date to be baptized and i'll be so sad if i dont get the opportunity to be there... but yaa so if you remember michelle and dan we found them a few months ago well michelle is getting baptized this saturday!! i am so excited! it was awesome at church yesterday we were just standing there and she's like "i'm getting baptized this week!" she is way excited! i'm bummed that dan isnt ready to be baptized yet but i am way stoked that michelle is willing to make this leap without him! it'll be awesome!
okay so our mission is like wayy bad at keeping our car miles underneath our monthly limit so we had what we call a park day this week. its just where you park your car for a day and use other means of transportation so we rode some bikes that we borrowed from some members and holyy cow! i did not realize how many hills we have in our stinkin area! i was tired after the first one! and balyon has like way strong legs so she is just powerhousing up all of the hills and i'm like way stugglin down at the bottom trying to not topple over cause i'm tired haha and then the bike seat hurt our butts like crazy! which i knew would happen but i just had forgotten how painful the first ride is.... we tried to find some beach cruisers to ride but no one here knew what those were hahaah even though i've seen a few people with them.. they must call them something else... but ya it was a fun day but i'm glad we only do it once a month haha.
oh man i agree with what you were saying about polynesians! they are awesome! like for example this past week we went to one of the polynesian families we're teaching house and the had made us dinner and cleaned up for us and drove us home (it was on our park day) and gave us a huge bag full of goodies like ice cream sandwiches, and rice, and meat, and cookies haha it was awesome! i'm gonna get used to people cleaning up after i'm done eating and preparing my meals that i'll probably come home and just expect it.......... haha just kidding. i honestly always feel bad when people clean up after me and go out of their way to prepare something for us cause i dont like being a mooch BUT we are missionaries and i figure i better just live it up while i can haha OH i forgot to tell you! so the ulrichs family (wolf's) that is in our ward, on of their sons knows a bunch of josh's friends (the kid we've been teaching) so he came with us to a lesson last night so you can tell the ulrichs that their cousin david is a good kid haha OH man i almost forgot the best part of the whole week okAY! so be ready for this story haha so on saturday we see josh and we are saying good bye after our lesson and we are like okay see ya tomorrow at church! and he's like okay! and we say ya just bring whomever you want! soooo come sunday we get a text from josh right before church starts and he's like ok we are almost there! but we are way underdressed so we are just like ah thats cool you dont have to be dressed any particular way to come to church. so he rolls up with three of his friends and they all get out and they are wearing skinny jeans and vans and t-shirts which was totally fine and then one of them is in what we call a 'bro-tank' it  is just a tank top haha and he's got a backwards hat one and once again its totally fine we are used to investigators being dressed way casual. so we walk into church and it was like they were famous hahaha everyone is like coming up and introducing themselves and they basically looked like a little boy band haah so they sat between me and baylon on the back row and i bet we just looked like we went and FTC'd (Flirt To Convert) (ps i dont do that junk) anyways haah i bet we just looked like we FTC'd the local skate park haah it was pretty awesome we took a picture of them after church. and the way david wolf got into the picture was he actually knew 2 of josh's friends really well so hopefully after josh is baptized we'll be able to focus on the rest of his friends!
wellllll that was my adventurous week! i love you and i love hearing about all of the little things you are doing like writing down once a day something that you can see as Heavenly Fathers hand in your life (and yes i know what put on you 'shiny' is from) haha
love tay
