hi mom!
okay so before i forget! you asked me about the holy ghost and what we tell investigators about the way it feels. and feel free to share any of my experiences with them! okay so a few scriptures i like to use is galations 12:5 i think is what it is.. i hope i'm right or i will look like a fool haha or i use john 14:26. and i talk about the different feelings the holy ghost can make you feel and one thing he specifically does that is some important is testify of truth. and its funny cause a lot of people will feel the holy ghost and not know what it is and they will be like well i just get this weird feeling and they always have this puzzled look like why do i feel weird? and i think weird is the only way they know how to describe it cause they've never felt it before. so i share with them the galations scripture and it talks about the fruit of the spirit meaning the different traits the holy ghost has and some of the feelings it describes is peace and joy. so i ask them if they have ever felt those feelings and then i ask what was happening when they felt those feelings. and i explain to them that those same feelings come from the holy ghost and he is there to help you know when things are right or good. and as in all things there is an opposite so the holy ghost can warn you of things. like your conscience can. you get that sick feeling in your stomach and you just know its wrong. well the holy ghost can do that too and as missionaries we constantly have to listen to those promptings of the spirit so we can know the things to say or teach or where to go. i mean ALL the time we rely on the holy ghost and its vital for us to be obedient so he can dwell with us. which acutally lead perfectly into my week haha so this week me and ikey, i should call her sister eichenmiller but it is way long to type!, okay so at the beginning of this week it had been a little while since we had taught a lesson and i just felt off for some reason. i didn't know what it was but that usually is something calling me to repentance cause the spirit isn't with me completely so i was praying and asking Heavenly Father what am i doing that makes me feel so off balance. and me and sister eichenmiller have been striving to be way obedient cause we know we need a lot of success in this area and well obedience brings blessings! so anyways, i kept getting the prompting that music was my problem. and its not that we listen to anything inappropriate we were following the mission standard and we just had the music up really loud a lot cause i dunno it was fun or something haha but ya so was like thinking man how am i gonna tell ikey we gotta not listen to music so loudly cause thats just what we did. well ong story short we went to zone meeting and afterwards ikey was like dude i recieved revelation and youre not gonna like it haha and i was like what are you talking about?? and she's like we gotta stop listening to music so loudly. and i was like DUDE! i thought the same thing! so needless to say we followed that prompting of the holy ghost and now i'm feeling back up to par! and we had and AWESOME week! so basically we found 6 new people to teach, we have 4 people on date to be baptized for the 12 of february, and we got a referral last night from a member who has a friend who is WAY interested in hearing more and things are just going awesome! i love it! we are so pumped to be here and i'm so glad that i have a hard working companion who i love so this week was basically just rad. :)
so you know the members we live with?? ya the ones that worship their weiner dog?? haha wellll so we are having dinner with them and the old man picks him up and has him eat off of his plate in the middle of dinner and they had other guests over and it was so gross! cause duke (the dog) is just nasty and is licking all of this food up and then the old guy sets him down and eats what the dog just licked!! i swear i dunno what is so special about this little dog but man.... its nasty... and so i decided the best way to describe what the old guy sounds like is this: so ya know that farmer guy from napoleon dynamite?? the one with the chickens? and he talks like this "rrwell rrrweerrrrr rrraree rrrgoing" ya know the one? and its some annoying and weird? haha well thats what he reminds me off except take away the farm and put a huge mansion and thats what i live with! haha OH so the other day we were tracting and all of a sudden i smelled mustard pork chops! haha i freaked out and was like ikey do you smell that?? and she's like ya it smells disgusting. and i was like no it smells like something my mom makes! and its good i promise! i don't think she believed me cause she just looked at me like i was retarded... haha welll hopefully this email made sense cause i didn't read back through it to proof read haha but i send my love and i know that grandma aho is in a much much happier place! i'm gonna miss that little pistol. you guys are the best! i love you!
