hey mom!
well im glad your week was crazy haha cause mine was a little crazy too but not with the "normal" missionary work. we went to this camp on tuesday called zions camp as a mission. its basically like going to girls camp but they have a lot cooler stuff. so basically we could wear p-day clothes for part of the time and while we did we had like 2 hours of free time where we could play sports and stuff and then for the rest of the day we did this unity and faith and trust building activites, it was really fun and it was a nice change of brain waves haha but my favorite part of the night was when we all changed into normal missionary attire and had little testimony and discussion from president and sister weaver. the shared a scripture in alma 23:7-8. it talks about laying down weapons of rebellion and to stop rebelling againts God. and they handed us each a piece of paper and told us to right down our inner rebellions and then after we did that they sort of surprised us and said okay now we are going to bury those rebellions and they had each of us one by one but our peices of paper into a fire and then president weaver talked about grace and we all sang amazing grace. it was really cool. the spirit was way strong and you could just feel this power and untiy growing between all of us.
as a mission we've been putting on special firesides for each of the stakes in our mission and i got to go to my first two firesides this week and they are awesome!!! they are dedicated to the members and we just bare testimony of the Savior through song and from a few missionaries standing and bearing their testimonies of him. its just like a spiritual nuke that gets dropped on the entire area of where we are performing. we've been practicing these songs for a little while and they are just way powerful. we sing called to serve (of course), battle hymn of the republic, amazing grace, and then some very talented missionaries either do solo's or group singing. but we do various versions of hymns and they are way awesome! we recorded the one we did last night (which ps was in port angeles que screaming twilight fans) so hopefully we will get a copy of the songs because its legit! iwas thinking of my personaly testimony of the Savior and realized i haven't emailed it in a while (actually i'm not sure if i have at all...) but i decided i would today so here it is:
to say i am grateful for what Jesus Christ has done for me would be an understatement, because i can't live without him. He is the sole purpose for my existence. and i know that if we turn to him we can conquer anything. the Savior taught that without him we can do nothing, and i add my testimony that that is true. without him we are nothing, without him i am nothing. i am so grateful for the opportunity i have to serve him and to wear his name over my heart everyday because that is what i want to do, to allow him to enter into my heart because that has been when i am happiest. one of my favorite songs is come thou fount and my favorite line is : take my heart oh take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above. i know that Jesus Christ lives and that he provided the way for us to become pure, to over come our weaknesses, all we have to do is open our heart to his and allow him to enter in. and i say this in his name, Jesus Christ, amen.
i love you and hope you have a good week! give everyone a hug from me!
love tay
