MOM!!!!!
so i heard thunder and saw lighting for basically the first time my entire mission! haha and it was extremely weak.... it wasnt any cool lightning like we get in the desert it basically was like God was taking a few pictures with his giant camera... but STILL! it was cool haha oh man i dont even know where i'm supposed to start with this week haha OH but before i do sister baylon wanted me to ask you if you ever ate at a place called the "shooting star saloon" in huntsville...? dont ask me why she wanted to know that haha OH and another thing before i get started on my week: there was a lady in church yesterday visiting from mesa and she said i could give her a bunch of stuff that needs to go home and she will take it to you guys! so just be prepared in the future for a lady coming by with my stuff... haha she wont be back in AZ until like the 26th or something so you dont have to be worried about it yet.
okay so my weeek! basically i did a lot of service.... and in particular we helped one of our investigators named andy mow and clean up his yard. let me first explain what andy's yard looked like before we helped him. so he hadn't mowed his grass in i dont know how long and it was basically like 4 feet tall... and he had gigantic weeds in his yard! for example one weed was about 12 feet high and i think it was the tallest that we found ( and thats just me estimating it couldve been taller than that) soooo basically we hacked everything down and mowed his grass like 4 bajillion times until it looked all pretty. so i guess i should thank you and dad for having me mow the lawn since i was like 8 so i could properly manicure andy's yard haha
so now i'm gonna talk about JOSH!! cause he is on fire! he is in mexico right visiting his parents and right before he left he was able to get the priesthood and be ordained to the office of a priest. SO he gets to mexico and he see's his mom and she just starts crying and saying she is so happy because she can tell that he is very happy and that something has changed about him so he tells her he got baptized and she just starts crying more cause she is so happy and so now his parents are meeting with the missionaries and josh gets to baptize them!!!!!! how cool is that!?!?!? ANNND baylon is now teaching josh's older sister who isnt a member and josh wants so badly to serve a mission so he told his mom that he is saving money for one and she told him that they would help him pay for it! he is like counting down his year mark from his baptism so he can go on a mission! he is just amazing. and you will probably hear me brag about him every week haha he has a had so much influence on his friends and family! it just goes to show how influential anyone can be especially when they are following Jesus Christ and God.
sooo this is for dad: he will pleased to know that i properly fixed our way crappy toilet so that it now flushes properly haha and you can tell him thank you for teaching us his skills as a plumber....
so some fun facts about the gig:
there are no laundromats...
its green
and has lots of hills (which ps i will be biking up this week because we have another 'park' day...)
the streets are really confusing because its not laid out like a grid its laid out like a bowl of spaghetti...
theres no such thing as the "ghetto"
people have swimming pools (ps again this means they are very wealthy cause NO ONE has a swimming pool...)
there are tons of gated communites
instead of no soliciting they are smarter here and put no trespassing:only residents and guests allowed, so now we legitimately cant knock on the doors in that neighborhood
