Letter October 25, 2011

Hey mom!  so this week nothing super exciting has happened except transfers....... which i wasn't to thrilled about because my companion sister baylon got transfered to a new sisters area called manette and we had so much fun together and we always would say that we are going to be some of the only people that we will both contact after our mission haha but ya i'm having baylon withdrawls and she told me to ask you to friend request her on facebook so i don't forget when i get home haha but i wouldn't forget cause i like her but anyways her name is sydney baylon from san diego so if you can figure out how to look her up that would be cool haha so my new companion is sister balmforth she is from utah. she's... cool... she's pretty laid back but she reminds me of my mtc companion just like with her interests and stuff. so we basically have like two things in common and i don't even know what they are right now.. one of them is we are both serving in the tacoma washington mission.. haha but ya i'll just deal with it. sister baylon doesn't live to far so we might make some secret combinations and meet up haha but probably not.. i'll just work hard so this transfer goes by wicked fast!

so i keep getting fed ham! and i have to eat it to be nice! haah its so hard... i get fed it allllll the time... me and sister baylon both hate ham and one day we were talking about it and then we walked into our dinner appointment and they served us a huge ham! haha we both just looked at each other and we knew what the other was thinking and it was so hard to not bust out laughing because we both knew that this was something we both hated but would force ourselves to eat! haha but yaaa i don't even know what my new companion likes to eat... probably dirt... hah i don't even know why i said that..

anyways so we had a really cool lesson with our investigator franz this past week! i taught him about the restoration on tuesday on splits and sister baylon taught him on thursday on splits. during my lesson with him i found out he has very little knowledge of Jesus Christ so we talked about that a lot and we talked about Joseph Smith and things and he was super receptive and he kept saying he has been feeling lost and i told him franz you've been found. he's really cool he is from asia and i can't spell the country he is from but ya is awesome! and then when baylon taught him she watched finding faith in Christ and he cried during it which is crazy cause he doesn't seem like a crier.... so franz started crying and he's like man i'm crying... it's just so sad but so happy and baylon was like franz thats the spirit and so they talked about that and then she asked him if he's be baptized and he said yes! and so he's getting baptized this sunday the 30th which is awesome! baylon was pretty sad that she is gonna miss it... but ya it'll be sweet!

another cool experience was on saturday night we had dinner with the elders quorum president of our ward and he told us how before we got there in the mission he had been praying so hard for help in the ward and he just needed more priesthood holders and then we came in and baptized three new priesthood age men and he was saying that our work had been an answer to his prayer and it was super neat to see that the reason we were baptizing a bunch of single navy dudes was because of his prayers.

so funny tracting story haha okay so me and baylon go up to this door and we knock and this guy opens the door and he is this big guy and he looks super sweaty and hairy.. and sister baylon says the whole  "hi we are missionaries from the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints" and he's like oh no i already have my church and so she asks "oh cool where do you like to go?" and he stands there and looks at her... and keeps looking at her.... and its just dead quiet for at LEAST 20 seconds and we are all just standing there looking at eachother and its so weird and so baylon makes a sound like she's gonna start talking and then the guy just flipped and got mad at us for asking him such a personal question and all of this stuff haha but it was nuts cause we seriously sat there for at least 20 seconds just staring at one another.. we walked away from that house laughing super hard (after we were out of earshot of course) but man it was funny.
